Generic Drug: Salmeterol + Fluticasone Propionate.

Indication: Chronic asthma & COPD. Also useful for prophylaxis of acute asthma attacks, nocturnal and post exertional attacks.

Contraindication: Hypersensitivity to preparation. Children below 4 years of age. Not for treatment of status asthmaticus and acute asthma attacks.

Dosage & Administration: Available as dry powder for inhalation.

Special Precautions:

  • To be used cautiously in cardiac diseases, diabetes, hypertension, hyperthyroidism and hypokalemia.
  • To be used cautiously in pregnancy & lactation.
  • Cautious use in case of tuberculosis, viral, fungal and other bacterial infections.

Side effects/ Undesired effects/ Adverse drug reactions: Tremors, palpitation, restlessness, hypokalemia, ankle edema, angioedema, urticaria, hypotension, oral and throat candidiasis, throat irritation, nasopharyngitis, lower respiratory tract infections, hoarseness and dysphonia.
