Generic Drug: Hydrocortisone.
Indication: It is indicated in acute inflammatory and allergic reactions, shock, status asthmaticus, anaphylactic reaction and other serious allergic disorders. It is also useful in acute adrenal insufficiency.
Contraindication: Hypersensitivity to preparation.
Dosage & Administration: Available as injection.
Special Precautions:
- To be used cautiously in cardiac diseases, diabetes, hypertension and hyperthyroidism.
- To be used cautiously in lactation and pregnancy.
Side effects/ Undesired effects/ Adverse drug reactions: Systemic steroid effects on prolong use such as cushing’s syndrome, osteoporosis, glaucoma and weakness.
