Dear Kushwaha,
The most suitable treatment for an individual depends on his/her personal factors and disease status. It should be properly evaluated by consultant chest physician.
hello!
I was suffering from cough and cold for more than a weak.
My doc. gave me Bedecort (0.5mg) nebulization treatment. I am 22 weeks pregnant.
Now, as I go through the details for this drug, it says it should be avoided in pregnancy.
Kindly give me the details as I am tensed now.
Thanking in advance.
Regards.
Dear Chandani,
Budecort contains budesonide (corticosteroid) which is available as inhalation aerosol. It is considered comparatively a safer corticosteroid. But should be given only when potential benefits outweigh potential risks. Your consultant chest physician and gynecologist are combindly the best judge for the situtation.
my Child is 20month old and have cough. doctor gives asthaline and budacort inhelar. is it safe for his. more steroid can’t create any side effect???
Dear Nili,
No doubt, steroid has its list of side effects if taken for longer duration; however Inhaled steroid is safer then oral steroids. Budecort contains budesonide which considered comparatively safe. You should follow directions of treating doctor as he is the best judge for risk-benefit calculation of this therapy.
