Generic Drug: Cetirizine Hydrochloride

Indication: Perennial and seasonal allergic rhinitis, allergic asthma, allergic conjunctivitis, pruritus and urticaria.

Contraindication: Hypersensitivity to cetrizine, lactation.

Dosage & Administration: Available in tablet (ALERID TAB) and syrup (ALERID SYRUP). Adults: 1 tablet once or twice a day or as directed by the physician. Children: Half of adult dose.

Special Precautions:

  • Cautious use in case of renal, hepatic, cardiac and thyroid disorders.
  • Cautious use with following medications:  other cold or allergy medicines, sleeping pills, psychiatric medicines, antidepressants, anti-anxiety drugs, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, high blood pressure medications, and diet pills.
  • It is sedative so do not drive or operate a machine.
  • Cautious use in pregnancy.

Side effects/ Undesired effects/ Adverse drug reactions: Agitation, dry mouth, drowsiness, headache, and hypersensitivity.
